ABOUT ME
Writing has always been my strong suit. Ever since I was young, I knew that good writing had the ability to change minds, create new worlds and connect people. After working as a professional violinist in Washington DC — I became frustrated by the lack of pay available to artists and arts organizations. So, I decided to pivot my career toward leadership and funding.
In 2019, received my Masters in Arts Management with distinction from one the best programs in the country, American University. Immediately after, I jumped in as the Director of Development at Mosaic Theater Company, a mid-sized social justice -based theater organization in DC. During my time at Mosaic, I’m proud to have raised over 3 million dollars from government, foundation and individual support despite a global pandemic.
In 2021, I began work as Director of Development at storytelling nonprofit Story District. There I won an organization-saving 6-figure government grant through the Small Business Administration’s Shuttered Venue Operators Grant. At Story District, I helped to diversify their foundation and government grant funding while also creating systems for better proposal writing, data collection and reporting.
In 2021 - my wife and I left DC and achieved our dream of creating a homestead in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
I am currently a member of the Grant Professionals Association and follow the GPA Code of Ethics.
